Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Ok, so I'm using Marc's Mac to post this, and I can't figure out how in the world to take the underline off - so just ignore that....but check out Caleb's chompers!
We had a great Valentine's Day.  Mimi and Pappi (my parents) babysat Caleb while Marc and I went out on a much needed date.  Grammy (Elaine) got Caleb this adorable Little Flirt shirt (thank you Elaine!), and the title is fitting.  He is such a ham anytime we're in public, trying to get everyone's attention, especially the ladies.

Caleb definitely LOVES his mom!  He loves his Dad too.  We're pretty sure he's said his first word - "Dada"!

10 Month Update

Well, another month has gone by and as I'm updating the blog, I realize I have hardly taken any pictures this month. I'm not sure why - I just forget I guess...Oh well, here are some of my attempts anyway. Caleb is into everything as usual. His favorite activity is climbing up the stairs as fast as possible. I'll try to post a video soon!

9 Month Dr Visit

Well, the comments from strangers haven't slowed any! "How old is he? Really, only 9 months! He's so big..."
However, he seems to be leveling off a bit. Today at his 9 month Dr. visit he weighed in at 21 lbs 4 oz and is almost 29 inches long. That puts him right in the 75th percentile for both height and weight, a change from his previous 90th percentile for weight! Perhaps it's because he's not too fond of the formula. He still looks like he never misses a meal, though!

9 Months!

Such an expressive, active, happy boy at 9 months!

Caleb loves trying to walk with his new toy - thanks Mimi and Pappi!

We had a slight injury, and Caleb cut his finger. Problem is - it was bleeding and he was getting blood everywhere, but he immediately tried to eat the bandaid off his finger! (I had never pondered this dilemma before! But then again you never imagine your 9 month old with a cut, bleeding finger either - I guess I better get used to it!) But a smart husband, a mitten and some tape, and voila. Poor child, he got used to the nub after a little while!

I am so very thankful that my child sleeps in the car!

Some of you know, many of you do not - I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in November. It has been a long road, but we know that the Lord is taking care of us in it. Over the last 2 weeks I have had to start a new medication and switch Caleb to formula. It has not been easy, and I can definitely empathize with any who have had to suddenly wean their child before either of them were ready. We've had our share of sleepless nights of Caleb's rather loud and passionate opinions about the change! Right now we take our sleep any way we can get it - sleeping on mom is still one of his favorites (and always a sweet time for mom!)

Merry Christmas!

We had a great Christmas! We enjoyed spending lots of time with family. Here's some of my favorite pics. (Sorry to those of you who aren't pictured - I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures this year...but then I've never been all that diligent with taking pictures!)
Caleb and Grayson on Christmas Morning - I love those half-awake faces!
1st Christmas with Mimi and Pappi
1st Christmas with Gramps and Grammy (sorry again - Grammy not pictured)

First Parade

Caleb went to his 1st parade on Saturday. We had a great time!
He was definitely mesmerized by all the sights and sounds!

We also celebrated his great-grandma's birthday!
Caleb with his Gramps!
He loves his Aunt Janice
He was so worn out that he actually slept straight through lunch in a noisy, crowded restaurant. That's a first....well, since he was tiny and could sleep through anything!

8 Months of pure, active BOY!

The months seem to fly by right now, and I can hardly keep up with Caleb's daily changes and new milestones! Playing and exploring in the kitchen is still one of his favorite activities. I love this big grin of his! He is such a happy baby.
Exploring the pantry - another of his favorites! He's pulling up on everything and stands like a champ. He even let go of me and stood on his own the other day for about 5 seconds!
He absolutely loves this piano that his cousin Grayson let him borrow! He has learned how to hold on and walk around it in order to play with each button
I've learned my lesson - only give him a couple of tupperware dishes at a time. They were soon scattered over the entire kitchen floor!
Teething, teething, and more teething - Caleb has 4 top teeth coming in!
Something about this mischevious grin tells me I'm in big trouble. Sure enough we didn't think he could get his leg up high enough in order to climb the step. A couple of days later he easily climbed that step and was standing on the second step! No worries, Marc and I were right there and we're working on finding a gate that fits!
