Just for you, Auntie Jan!

Caleb's Aunt Janice got him the cutest outfits for his birthday. Since she doesn't get to see him very often, I thought she might want to see him wearing his new threads.
I can't decide which is my favorite, but the Puma warm-up suit is at the top.

He got lots of compliments at church on this outfit
He was hamming it up for the camera in his Calvin Klein's!
Thank you Auntie Jan! We love you!

Dr. Visit

Caleb had his 12 mo. Dr. visit today. He did great and charmed all the nurses. He was all smiles, well, of course until the dreaded MMR shot that apparently burns.
The Dr. said he looks like he weighs more than he does! But Caleb weighs in at 23 lbs and is 30 inches long - just above the 50th percentile. He even said a new word. He waved and said "byebye" to the nurse!
I guess some of them are debatable, but I'm pretty sure he says 5 words now: "dada", "mama", "more", "doggie", and "byebye". He's also learning what "no" means. It's pretty funny to watch him shake his head back and forth vigourously after we tell him "no touch" to something off limits. Our next step is getting him completely off formula, which doesn't seem like it'll be too hard. He tried organic whole milk tonight and loved it! Lately he seems to have a fear of random things. Last night it was a hat, over the past week it's been shoes, and he still has a phobia of the vacuum cleaner! But I hear it's normal to be afraid of weird things, so I guess for now I'll just keep vacuuming when he's not around, but at some point, the child has to wear shoes :)

Happy Easter!

He's Walking!!!

This is a week old, so he's walking even better now! It's been so exciting to watch him enter this new stage. He is definitely excited about being able to walk!

Happy 1st Birthday, Caleb!!!

This is a loooong post, but hey, Caleb only turns 1 once! His birthday was on Friday the 3rd, and as a family of 3 we decided to start an annual birthday dinner tradition. So we headed to Double Dave's for some yummy pizza. Caleb told me that was where he wanted to go :)

Here's my happy boy after some dinner.
And now time for his bedtime snack...notice the belly propped up on the boxSome post-bedtime playing. I guess if you can't stay up late on your birthday, then it's no birthday at all! The next morning we headed over to Mimi and Pappi's for a family birthday party!
Caleb knew exactly what to do with those presents...

My first attempt at making my child's birthday cake - notice, I said 1st attempt! It's harder than I thought to write on a cake, but I was so determined that I wanted to make my son's birthday cake. To me, that is being a mom...making your child's birthday cake. Maybe that's because my amazing mom always made mine!Caleb, unfortunately, didn't want much to do with his cake. He doesn't really like slimy things (won't eat pieces of banana, avocado, apple etc for that same reason!)So....Gramps decided to see if he could get Caleb to warm up to the cake. Caleb did eat a couple of bites from a spoon...and then his foot found the cake.......that's when things finally got a little messy!

So then Pappi gave him a bath to clean up all that chocolate!

Auntie Jan drove in all the way from Austin for his party - we love you
I love this picture It was a great 1st birthday! Thank you for all the great gifts and most of all for sharing this special day with us. We love you all.
(and I'll try to post more pictures soon once I get the best pics from my dad....sorry, mom, I don't have any pictures of you and caleb! )

Welcome Baby Teague

Brittany had her second little boy on March 31st. Teague is so cute and looks more like his brother than you might think. Tanna and I drove to Georgetown for this newest arrival, and we were so thankful to be there. Brit, we are praying that this little guy is a laid-back, good sleeper!

Trip to Missouri

For Spring Break we got to go to Missouri to visit some friends. Anyone who knows us knows we love road trips. This was a little different w/a rather vocal member in the backseat, but we still love our road trips. I definitely recommend driving at night! We decided to do that on the way home, and Caleb slept the entire way - much better. David, Katie, Sarah, Hannah, Stephanie, and Annie - we had such a great time visiting you! Thank you for having us. And you sweet 4 girls: you will always get the credit for getting Caleb to start walking!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
